Toddlers have increased nutrition needs as they go through rapid growth and energy requirements. a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink is designed to provide nutritional support where needed alongside a healthy, varied diet.

Switching to a stage 3 toddler milk drink happens at about the one year mark. Before making the change, we recommend consulting with your healthcare professional for personalised advice.
The recommended period of transition is often over the course of about one to two weeks. A gradual introduction can help your toddler become accustomed to the new formula without upsetting their tummy.
The transition will take place whilst your toddler continues to eat their usual solid foods.
Start by slowly introducing serves of the a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink while still primarily using a2 Platinum® Premium Follow-on formula - Stage 2. For example, you can begin by replacing one serve per day with the toddler milk drink
Over the course of several days or weeks, gradually increase the number of toddler milk drink serves while decreasing the amount of stage 2 formula. The recommended number of serves is 2 per day.
During the transition, closely monitor your child for any signs of digestive discomfort, allergies, or intolerances. Keep an eye on their stool consistency, behaviour, mood and overall well-being. If you notice any concerning symptoms, consult with your healthcare professional for further guidance.
Once your toddler has adjusted to the a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink and is tolerating it well, you can fully transition by exclusively using the toddler milk drink and discontinuing the stage 2 follow-on formula.
How to prepare a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink
Our easy-to-follow video demonstrates how to safely prepare a2 Platinum® Premium toddler milk drink according to expert guidelines.
It is important to follow the directions for use. Always mix one scoop of powder with 50 mL drinking water. Mixing the powder with milk is not recommended. If you have concerns about your toddler's nutrition, call our a2™ Careline to speak with an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
Transitioning to a cup is an important milestone. Introduce a cup between 6 and 12 months, gradually replacing bottle feeds. By one year most children have the coordination to handle a cup. Choose a sippy, straw or open cup that suits your child's stage.
An opened can remains safe for four weeks when stored in a cool, dry place with the lid closed. Discard any unused powder after that time. Keep the scoop dry; wash and dry it thoroughly if it becomes wet.
Most toddlers move to Stage 3 around their first birthday. Consult your healthcare professional for individual advice and transition gradually over one to two weeks.
The recommended intake is two serves per day (3 scoops + 150 mL water per serve), providing roughly 22 – 50 % of the RDI for 16 essential vitamins and minerals. Solid foods should remain the primary source of nutrition from 12 months onward.
It supplies essential nutrients - including iron to support normal cognitive development - and can help bridge nutritional gaps for fussy eaters when used alongside a healthy, varied diet.

We believe breastfeeding is best to provide ideal nutrition for babies, and other important health benefits. Good nutrition for mums is important throughout pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding. However, we understand breastfeeding may not be an option for everyone. To support you on your feeding journey, we recommend speaking to a healthcare professional. Introducing formula either partially or exclusively may reduce breast milk supply, which isn’t easy to re-establish. It is also important to consider the social and financial impacts of formula, such as potential cost of providing formula until your baby is 12 months old. When using infant formula, always follow the preparation instructions carefully. Improper use can make your baby unwell.
