Ingredients

^ 1 scoop = 8.5g of powder; 1 scoop + 50mL water = 56.5mL.

This feeding guide is a general guide only. Every baby is different; your baby may need more or less follow-on formula. From the age of 6 months, your baby should be offered solid food in addition to follow-on formula.

Not suitable for babies under 6 months

Cup Feeding Guidelines: Introduce a baby feeding cup at around 6 months of age to teach your baby the skill of sipping from a cup.

Dental Hygiene: Avoid putting your baby to sleep with a bottle, as it can lead to tooth decay. 

Directions for use

  1. Step 1
    1.

    Always wash hands before preparing feeds. Clean and then sterilise all utensils with an approved steriliser or by boiling in a large pot with a lid, on the stove for 5 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Boil safe drinking water and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Consult feeding guide. Measure the required volume of cooled boiled water into a sterilised feeding bottle.

  3. Step 3
    3.

    Use only the enclosed scoop, fill scoop and level off using the built-in leveller on the can. Avoid compacting powder.

  4. Step 4
    4.

     Add the exact amount of powder to the water in the bottle. Always add 1 level scoop of powder for each 50mL of water. Cap the bottle and mix thoroughly by shaking gently or swirling the bottle to dissolve the powder.

  5. Step 5
    5.

    Check the prepared feed is at the right temperature by testing on your wrist. Feed your baby immediately. Discard any unfinished feed within 1 hour (do not store).

What is a stage 2 formula?

Stage 2 formula, also known as follow-on formula, is specially formulated for babies from 6 months of age. It's designed to complement the introduction of solid foods and provides appropriate nutrition as part of a diversified diet. Stage 2 formulas have different nutritional profiles compared to Stage 1 infant formulas to meet the evolving needs of growing babies.

How do you switch from a stage 1 formula to a stage 2 formula?

When transitioning from Stage 1 to Stage 2 formula around 6 months of age, you can make the switch gradually or immediately, depending on what works best for your baby. Some parents prefer to mix the formulas during transition (e.g., alternating bottles) while others switch directly. Always consult with your healthcare professional before making the change, especially if your baby has any feeding sensitivities.

How long does a2 Gentle Gold® Premium follow-on formula last?

Once opened, a2 Gentle Gold® Premium follow-on formula should be used within 4 weeks when stored properly in a cool, dry place. The unopened product should be used before the expiry date printed on the base of the can. Always mark the opening date on the can for reference.
